About me
J. Thomas Link holds a Master of Arts Degree in Jazz Composition and Improvisation. At the University of Memphis, he has taught Aesthetics and Analysis of Jazz and Commercial Music, Studio Recording Ensemble, University Jazz Ensemble III, Jazz Saxophone, and is a member of the U of M Faculty Birth of the Cool Ensemble.
As an Artist-In-Residence at St. George’s Independent School, his work focuses on the music of the Midsouth and the Mississippi delta. His ensembles have garnered seven Downbeat Magazine Student Music Awards, including the Winner of the 2022and 2023 Blues/Pop/Rock category for St. George’s American Music Ensemble.
One of the most in demand saxophone payers in Memphis, Mr. Link has performed with artists ranging from Aretha Franklin to Johnny Mathis to Three6Mafia, and everyone in between.
Tom is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
